Have many fond memories of Dublin at Villa. Nothing will beat his pen against Bolton at the old Wembley. His comments about Balaban is what we all knew that is the worst signing in my lifetime. Thanks for the memories Dion. UTV!

What a man, I know it’s a cliche but he made the team ramp it up when we needed it. Strong character and nutter, we loved this bloke especially after Yorke went. Shame we didn’t get him when he was younger and that injury killed him off :( gave us some good memories

My absolute favourite as a kid along with olof. Only been a few players I class as legends in my life and he's one. Him olof carew laursen barry As much as I loved JPA and gabby and many more I just never got the buzz when their names we announced before games like the aforementioned.

We had some great squads in the late 90s and early 2000s. Some great games and even better memories.UTV.

Dion Dublin, I remember watching him at Cov and then when he came to Villa it was awesome. For me my favourite striker and I'm pretty old these days, so old my favourite player as a kid was Brian Little ;-)

Brilliant interview, such a likeable man. Love his comments about some of the other players. The Balaban comments match things I've heard elsewhere. The analysis on both Collymore and Darius sums up my own feelings - lots of frustration about two very talented people. The Crouch story was the best though of course. Oh and and can we refrain from talking about Luc Nilis please? I'm still traumatised! *_sob_* Anyway. Good work, this. Well done.

Dublin could teach modern players a thing or two about scoring: forget the Roberto Carlos stuff and just out your laces through the ball. He was always a team-player and now he's an ambassador and media pundit, he knows exactly what is required and does it.

Great times. I reckon 98/99 was my favourite season. Great players and we were on the march. Shame we just couldn't keep it going.

The FA Cup final was probs his one regret of his time at Villa, couldnt really split us or chelsea in terms of performance or quality of player at the time, we just didnt turn up and they scored from a goalkeeping mistake.

When he was talking about the Arsenal game in 1998 he said him and david james almost came to blows. But that can't be true because David James didn't join the club until a year later in 1999. Anyone else notice this?

I'm sure it was Dean Holdsworth who missed that penalty for Bolton if I remember rightly
