Awful way to concede. Defence is just all over the shop. Bruce has to put this right. Put players in natural positions and stop sitting on a slender lead. Players have to show more conviction when in ascendancy, and calmness when under the cosh. We just seem to buckle and undo all our decent work. C'mon lads. Knuckle down and push on. UTV

Sleep walking our way through games, and riding our luck for the most part. I know it's early doors and we can/must improve, but our performance levels at times are abject.

Nobody is playing bad but nobody is playing great either. That’s Bruce’s problem - not getting the best out of the players. Is it because he’s playing a few out of position ? Not playing a consistent team? Dull tactics ? Since Bruce took over I can count on one hand the amount of games that have truly excited me and given me optimism and that isn’t good enough for the money /time he’s spent at the club. Bruce’s pragmatic approach to tactics is looking a little dated. Where’s the midfielders running past the forward ? We don’t stretch teams enough, Where’s the forward running the channels ? Why have we got 5 right backs and one left back (who you don’t play) ? Why sign a cb and play him right back and then play a midfielder at cb ? Why play 1 up front at home games or against a team with 10 men ?

Those Nyland saves though. Wow.

Chester didnt need to slide in whatsoever the guy is running away from goal he could have just shadowed him and just prevent him from turning towards goal or getting a cross in or whatever, overall the defending wasnt good enough and they almost scored from that set piece in the first half as well as from that cross in the second which should have easily been cut out, Jedinak what was he thinking? get him back in DM he's co CB.

Same plays.........get the ball out wide, we come forward ball goes wide.....gaps in middle opened up and the pass through, never came. The opposition see our players on the ball then go over to the player being passed too. So a player goes from a load of space to having two or three defenders around him when pass, EVENTUALLY COMES. DIRECTLY INFRONT OF THE HOLTE SPACE OPENED UP, WAS THERE A SHOT ON TARGET.......EERRRMMMM NOPE, SPEND TOO MUCH TIME ON BALL THEN ..........YEP PLAY IT WIDE. FRUSTRATING WATCHING VILLA. YOU HAVE CREATIVE PLAYERS USE THEM OR HAND OVER TO SOMEONE WHO CAN.
